What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a science based health care profession concerned with assessing, diagnosing, treating and maintaining your well-being. With over 15 years of experience we understand how muscles and joints work and how the body moves in everyday life. We use a variety of techniques to help your joints and muscles work to their full potential.
Linsey Knowles and Associates use a dynamic ‘hands on’ approach to your treatment, to reduce pain and promote the body’s own healing mechanisms. It is beneficial for people of all ages and also professional and recreational sports men and women.

Ultrasound, Interferential and acupuncture treatments may also be used to achieve the best treatment results.
Exercise rehabilitation (including Pilates and core stability exercises) is given for continued treatment at home and to prevent further injury.

What does treatment involve?

Assessment
A full assessment will initially be carried out to diagnose your problem and help you understand what’s wrong. This begins with a talk about the problem and your general health. You will then have a physical assessment which will look into your movements and identify the affected tissues. As we allow up to 60 minutes for your assessment there is almost always time to start your treatment immediately and provide advice and exercises.
Together we will work out an effective treatment plan that takes into account your lifestyle, leisure activities and general health. This will often include exercises and advice on how to help yourself.

Your treatment
We use a variety of treatment techniques to speed up healing and recovery, reducing pain and stiffness and help your joints and muscles work normally.
